I was so inspired when I visited Sherwood Forest 🌳 and saw the Major Oak tree she is magnificent even in her leafless state … I carved this Lino after the news of the death of the tree was announced and included a momento mori in the design as a reminder we all must die but it’s the living we do that matters … and flipping heck did that tree live a long life up to 1200 years  all the history it’s seen all our little human moments walking past sheltering beneath its branches…
